Primary Function: To generate fundraising income through campaigns, special events, individual and corporate solicitations and other organizational development strategies or initiatives. In addition identify and create opportunities to raise the level of awareness of the organization’s brand. Lastly to incorporate strategies and tactics supporting the development and marketing plans of the organization.

Key Roles:

1.       Develop and enhance resource and marketing development efforts of the organization through the development and implementation of comprehensive marketing and resource development plans for the organization.

2.       Engage and provide superior work product in support of the marketing and resource development plans of the organization.

3.       Contribute to attaining financial support by:

a.       Writing grant proposals for foundation support

b.      Working with Club professionals and volunteers to solicit corporations and individuals for donations and other support

c.       Planning and implementing special fundraising events

4.       Develop and implement public awareness strategies designed to build appreciation and support of organizational programs and initiatives.

5.       Design and promote special gatherings that focus awareness on Club programs, engage community support and generate revenue.

6.       Manage administrative and operational systems to track revenue generating events, compile income status reports and variance reports, and recognize contributions with acknowledgement letters and special recognition events.

7.       Control resource development and marketing expenditures against budget.

Relationships:

Internal: Maintain close, daily contact with Club management to exchange information, seek and give assistance, consultation and direction. Maintain contact with financial staff and support staff. Maintain verbal and written contact with volunteers and volunteer committees.

External: Maintain contact with community and corporate leaders, parents, schools and local residents to seek financial support to provide information regarding Club activities and needs.

Skills/Knowledge Required:

·         Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.

·         A minimum of two years work in the non-profit sector with an emphasis on fundraising, marketing, management, budgeting, community and public relations or equivalent sales and marketing experience.

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·         Knowledge of accounting principles as they relate to fundraising issues.
