The Boys & Girls Clubs all across the country are responding to the needs of young people
and their families during the COVID-19 pandemic. As a part of that response locally and in collaboration with the Texas Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Laredo are engaging its members through technology.

BGC Laredo is offering online learning through its social media platforms and has engaged in over 120 hours of online activity, including music lessons through zoom. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Laredo are also providing weekend grab-n-go backpacks filled with food and educational activities; to date, we have delivered over 225 bags to families that have impacted over 300 children.

Kevin Lopez Boys & Girls Clubs Assistant Executive Director has stated, “The Boys & Girls Clubs of Laredo member’s
and their family’s well-being is our top priority, we will continue to provide them with assistance and meet our
mission to serve the children of this community daily.”

Boys & Girls Clubs are strictly following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Texas Department of
Health’s guidelines to ensure safe and healthy delivery of programming and food distribution during the Covid-19
pandemic.
